We move from the modern Atlantic coast through the intellectual heart of Fes, across the High Atlas peaks, and deep into the silent dunes of the Sahara. Day 1

The Modern Gateway

The journey starts with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, a marvel of Moroccan craftsmanship where Amazigh geometric patterns meet modern engineering. We observe the intricate Zellij tilework and hand-carved cedar wood, followed by a walk along the Corniche to see how the city bridges its ancient roots with a cosmopolitan future.

Day 2

The Spiritual Epicente

We enter the world’s largest car-free urban space: Fes el-Bali. The day focuses on the Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Bou Inania Madrasa, masterpieces of Marinid architecture. We visit the Chouara Tannery to witness the 1,000-year-old process of leather dyeing, a craft preserved by generations of local families.

Day 3

The Apple of the Atlas

Leaving the city behind, we climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We pass through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques, and arrive in Midelt. This town serves as the geological heart of the country; we visit local workshops showcasing the region's famous minerals and fossils, learning about the mountain tribes' deep connection to the earth.

Day 4

Into the Golden Silence

The landscape shifts dramatically as we follow the Ziz Valley, a vast palm grove carved into limestone canyons. In Merzouga, the pavement ends and the dunes of Erg Chebbi begin. We witness the sunset over the 150-meter-high dunes and spend the evening learning about the nomadic lifestyle of the Sahara tribes under a canopy of stars.

Day 5

The Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs

We head toward the Dades Gorge, following the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." We stop at the Todra Gorge, a massive 300-meter-high limestone trench. The afternoon is spent exploring the "Monkey Fingers" rock formations and the fortified communal granaries that have protected Amazigh harvests for centuries.

Day 6

The Fortress of Clay

Two full days are dedicated to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a perfect example of earthen architecture. We explore the winding alleys of this fortified village, visiting the hilltop granary and the ancient homes. On Day 7, we venture deeper into the Ounila Valley to see the Telouet Kasbah, the crumbling but opulent former seat of the Glaoui family.

We cross the high Tizi n'Tichka Pass to reach Marrakech.

Moroccan architecture

Focus on the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, exploring the height of Moroccan royal architecture.

A visit to the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Le Jardin Secret, focusing on the mathematical precision of Islamic art.

Day 10

Weavers in action

Dedicated to the Musée des Arts et Métiers and the vibrant souks of the Medina, where we observe metalworkers and weavers in action.

Day 11

The Final Threshold

A morning for final reflections in the Jemaa el-Fnaa square as the city wakes up. We visit the Koutoubia Mosque gardens before the journey concludes, marking the transition from the ancient mountain traditions back to the modern world.
